Oscar Fashion, The Newest “It” Social Media Site and Decal Sales Tips

Below are a few fashion, marketing and selling trends to help increase your revenue this year.

1. Oscar Fashion
The Oscars this year were relatively bland. No swan dresses, no see-through Cher numbers, no Lady Gaga in her standard face-mask, meat-dress, 12-inch heel mania. Everyone looked beautiful and boring. The few things to take away are white as a statement color (which I mentioned back in September), mixing navy blue and black (cue Milan Menswear) and metallic patterns (glitter is the best). Gwyneth Paltrow wore a white Tom Ford dress and cape. Jonah Hill wore a black tux with a navy shirt. Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer, Cameron Diaz and Miss Piggy wore metallic/sequin patterns. Combine all three trends with a glitter-print tee and navy and black track pants! Perfect for cheer camps, middle school girls sports teams, drama programs and theater camps.

2. Pinterest
The new “it” social network is ideal for this industry as it relies on images to sell a message. Mashable had a great article on how best to use the site as a marketing tool. You can use it to show your different promotions and how they were used, so your clients can see your creativity in action.

3. Decals
In February, I wrote a product showcase on stickers, decals and magnets. I received a few good case studies, but I could only include one. Below is a sales story from Richard Ouellete, president of Zoogee World, Calais, Maine.
“One of our promotional product distributors placed a substantial order for their customer, a heavy equipment service company, who wanted to promote their company logo with the use of a repositionable dome decal. Their logo could be attached and displayed on electronic devices, cellphones, refrigerators, vehicle window, etc. without leaving any adhesive residue to cleanup. This promotion was very successful as it provided a low-cost high-quality look promotion with multiple opportunities for the recipient to use it as they saw fit.”
