Cover All of Your Coat Bases

Fall has officially arrived here in Philadelphia (it was 50 degrees on my walk to work this morning). Though I love summer, I’m excited for jackets, scarves, gloves, boots and other outerwear accessories that come with October and November. I wrote about promotional outerwear in September’s issue and here is an addendum, spiced up with some current fashion-world trends.

1. Trench
The trench coat, invented by Burberry in the 1870’s for military use, is now a staple of outerwear for men and women. For your promotions, try the Military Trench Coat from Alternative Apparel.

2. Varsity
Take advantage of the current varsity jacket trend championed by 13-year-old Elle Fanning with styles like the Jonathan Corey Varsity Jacket from Virginia T’s.

3. Prints
Prints derived from Southwestern patterns and other intriguing designs adorn many scarves and capes for fall and winter. Find fun prints for your clients, like the Nitro from Sierra Pacific Apparel. Be careful what you name these prints. If they are not actually designed by Native Americans, you can get in trouble for calling them Native American prints, like Urban Outfitters did.

4. Denim
You can be funky and keep your arms cool by wearing a jean vest like Refinery29 suggests, or you can cover up with armed jackets like the Women’s Jean Jacket from Dickies Occupational Wear.
