Prints, Embellishments & Styles from Resort 2014 Collections

Resort 2014 collections have been released. Here are the trends to know for your 2014 warm weather apparel programs. Some of these styles may even find their way into your summer programs this year.

Houndstooth & Lace
Oscar De La Renta showed houndstooth with florals, which sounds cluttered, but really worked. His collection is a lesson in layering patterns (and imprints). He also mixed tweed and lace for a warmer, yet still summery, look.

Cargos & Pleats
Who thought cargos would have a moment in the fashion spotlight? The favorite of outdoor workers, cargo styles appeared in Diesel Black Gold’s collection. The cargos were sleeker than the average work pant, appearing in white and taupe on fitted jackets and pants. The line also showed pleats and contrast buttons. (You can already find cargos, pleats and contrast buttons on Promo Marketing Search.)

Metallics & Brights
DKNY showed gold and silver on everything. A bright, yellow gold and a white, shiny silver, both of which would look great imprinted on T-shirts. Other hues shown were purple wine, cobalt blue and blazing yellow.

Pinks & All-over Prints
Akris showed more cobalt blue and purple wine, as well as all-over printed blouses (great idea for the promo industry!) and zip-up cardigans (which already exist in the industry). Other colors shown were cradle pink, pink mist and cloud cream.

Tie-dye & Bows
Moschino Cheap & Chic’s Resort 2014 collection held tie-dye and bejeweled embellishments. The line also had hot coral purses, more pleats and all-over prints on dresses. The most interesting piece I saw was a mellow yellow blazer with ties instead of buttons. It made for a polished and feminine look.

Brocades & Summer Suits
Most of Tory Burch’s apparel looks like resort wear, so it is no wonder the designer dominated with her Resort 2014 collection. Florals, brocaded pockets and embellished hats made for a beachy, summery collection. She also showed more office-appropriate looks with striped and patterned suiting in navy and white. Plus, more pleats!
