Target received complaints about a T-shirt that critics are saying is sexist. The T-shirt, depicting a scene from “Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope” where Darth Vader is intimidating Luke Skywalker and says “I brought the Dark Side. What did you bring?” It’s a fun idea for a kid’s shirt, but there’s only one problem—in the movie, Vader is really pointing his finger at Princess Leia.
Fans were outraged that the designer replaced Leia with Skywalker for the sake of the T-shirt, which the store said was for boys. Some people took to Twitter to voice their opinions to Target.
@Target you could not have made a more sexist tshirt #starwars. Removing Leia and replacing her with Luke? Shame on you

According to Buzzfeed, Target decided to pull the shirt from stores.
“The fans have spoken and we are going to remove that shirt from our assortment,” Joshua Thomas, a spokesman for Target, told Buzzfeed News.
Thomas also said that Target did not design the shirts, which are still available elsewhere online.
