BIC Group Reports First Half Results for 2013

BIC Group, parent company to BIC Advertising & Promotional Products, reported its 2013 second quarter and first half results this week. The group as a whole reported sales of approximately $1.243 billion (937.5 million euros) for the six month period, up 2.2 percent on a comparative basis from same period in 2012. Net sales for the quarter were up 4.1 percent on a comparative basis at $675.2 million (508.9 million euros).

Standard Register Acquires WorkflowOne

Standard Register, Dayton, Ohio, announced today that it has acquired top 50 distributor WorkflowOne in a transaction valued at $218 million, financed by assuming $210 million of long-term debt and the issuance of warrants with an estimated value of $8 million.

“This strategic combination brings together two companies with highly complementary business and market presence to create a leading player in workflow, communications and analytics,” said Joseph P. Morgan, Jr., president and CEO of Standard Register. “The acquisition of WorkflowOne increases our customer base and incremental growth opportunities. It also provides new markets and capabilities in retail and promotional products and cross-selling opportunities. And, importantly, we are acquiring a significant pool of talented people with expertise in our industry and markets.”

WorkflowOne, also based in Dayton, ranked number 10 on Promo Marketing’s list of the Top 50 Distributors of 2013. The company reported promotional product sales of $101 million and total sales over $460 million.
